Grilled Flank Steak on Ciabata With Red Peppers

This steak sandwich, inspired by the flavors of Spain, takes a little time to prepare, but it's really quite simple. Just sauté a tangle of onions and red peppers until tender, then hit it with a splash of red wine and black olive tapenade. Meanwhile, rub the meat with a little olive oil and paprika then grill (or broil) until done. Pile the sliced meat and pepper mixture onto toasted ciabatta and enjoy.

Brazilian Braised Beef—Carne Louca

Carne louca ("crazy meat") is popular Brazilian party fare: small appetizer-size sandwiches filled with tender braised beef with vegetables. The beef is marinated in a vinegar sauce, then browned in a skillet. Onions, tomatoes, and green peppers are sautéed in the same skillet, then everything is simmered in the marinade until the beef is very tender.Brazilians often cook the beef in a pressure cooker before adding it to the sautéed vegetables, which speeds things up a bit.

Not only is it delicious, but the longer you let the sandwich to sit, the tastier it gets. Allowing the flavors to mend in the fridge creates a delicious marinated sandwich. You can eat this cold right out of the fridge, or toast it up in the oven. Either option is great.

A muffaletta is definitely high up on my list of favorite sandwiches. So is a good grilled cheese. I decided to combine these two into one.
